IOC petrol pump inaugurated

TIRUPATI. Feb. 27. India's oil major, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has Sunday opened its 10,000th petrol pump in the country and Tirupati was accorded this unique distinction.
The filling station built at a cost of Rs. 50 lakhs on a prime TTD site provided on a long lease was commissioned by the Chairman of the IOC, M.S. Ramachandran, with the TTD's Executive Officer, A.P.V. Narayana Sarma, participating as the guest of honour.
It would be operated as a Company Owned Company Operated (COCO) outlet of the IOC which enjoyed a 49 per cent market share in the diesel sale and 39 per cent in the petrol sales in the temple city besides having the distinction of operating the only one retail outlet at Tirumala.
Among the other participants were IOC's Director (Marketing), N.G. Kannan and I. Koti Padmakar, General Manager of Andhra Pradesh office.
