Leopard succumbs to injuries

HYDERABAD, FEB. 27. After a five-day battle for life, the leopard that was severely thrashed on straying into a residential colony at Srirampur in Adilabad district succumbed to injuries at Nehru Zoological Park in the city on Sunday.

The months old leopard was shifted to the city zoo on Wednesday in a serious condition and was kept on drip and antibiotics. The preliminary observations revealed injuries on the head, neck, lumbar region and the animal did not come out of the comatose condition, the zoo staff said.

The post-mortem report, according to zoo curator, B. Srinivas, revealed that the leopard succumbed to internal haemorrhage, injuries and shock.

The lungs too were damaged due to haemorrhage.
