By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, FEB. 27. A person claiming himself to be an official of the Road Transport Authority, reportedly fled with an autorickshaw after sending the driver to get the original documents of the vehicle at Khairatabad.

The driver, Syed Nazeer (20) of Yousufguda, was going from Srinagar Colony to Panjagutta when hewasstoppedby the fake RTA officer near Oriental Bank on February 23. He was asked to come to the Khairatabad RTA office. On entering the office premises, he asked Nazeer to show the vehicle's documents which were in the name of the owner, Ashok. The trickster asked him to leave the vehicle at the RTA office and get the original documents. The next day, when Nazeer went to the office, he did not find the vehicle or the RTA officer in question. For two days, he went around the other RTA offices in the city and outskirts and later approached the Panjagutta police on Saturday who registered a theft case.
