Bus rams into police station

NEW DELHI, MARCH 18. A restaurant owner and two others were injured when a Blueline bus rammed into their car before crashing into the boundary wall of Tughlak Road police station in New Delhi today. The driver of the bus has been arrested.

According to the police, the bus plying on route No. 520 -- from Malviya Nagar to Super Bazar -- was coming from Malviya Nagar when it hit a Tata Indica near the Tughlak Road roundabout around 1 p.m. The driver, Balbeer Singh, then lost control of the bus which crashed into the boundary wall of the police station.

The police said Prakash, Inder Mani and Mahesh, who were travelling in the Tata Indica, were taken to RML Hospital. While Inder and Mahesh were discharged after first aid, Prakash, who owns a restaurant in Gurgaon, has been admitted with injuries. Balbeer too was discharged after first aid. Meanwhile, more than 20 commuters who were travelling in the bus escaped unhurt.

The Tughlak Road police have registered a case of causing injury due to rash and negligent driving and further investigations are on.
