SHO sent to lines

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, MARCH 18. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Keshav Puram police station in North-West Delhi, where 30-year-old Parmeshwar Dayal allegedly committed suicide by electrocution on Tuesday, was shunted to the 1st Battalion of the Delhi Armed Police (DAP) today.

The police post in-charge and a constable were earlier sent to the lines in the case.

The incident had sparked off a clash between the relatives of the deceased and the police at Khajuri Khas in North-East Delhi on Wednesday, in which five police personnel were injured and a motorcycle and a scooter were set afire.

Parmeshwar, whose mother had lodged a complaint on March 4 alleging that he had been abducted, was traced to Bhorgaon near Pune and brought to Delhi on Monday. The police claimed that since no one from his family came to take him, they allowed him to stay in the Shanti Nagar police post for the night. The next morning, he was found dead in the toilet.
