MUMBAI, MARCH 21. Fransa Pax rode on a 24th minute strike to defeat Mahindra United in an action-packed NFL game at the Cooperage on Monday. International Jules Alberto Dias, a former Mahindra player, headed in the match-winner off a ball headed towards him by Benjamin Ansah. The Goan club is now in third spot with 21 points (13 matches), while the home team, sticking to a pattern of a fight-back after conceding an early goal, remains on 19 (13) and slips to the fifth spot. The winning move came off a Peter Rodrigues corner-kick, resulting in the ball passing across the goalmouth and putting custodian Sunder Rajan into difficulty. Mahindra counter attacked but the five-man Fransa midfield held on. The second session saw end-to-end action with both sides on the offensive even though no goals materialised.
