India, Pakistan players take a break

BANGALORE, MARCH 21. After two nerve-wracking Tests, Indian and Pakistani cricketers took a well-deserved break here today, ahead of the final Test starting on Thursday.

The cricketers, who arrived from Kolkata last night, confined themselves to their hotel rooms in the city, a day after India scored a thumping victory in the second Test to go one-up in the three match series.

Coach John Wright visited M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and inspected the pitch. Among the players, wicketkeeper Dinesh Kaarthick was the only one to turn up at the venue in the morning to get a feel of it.

``I am happy with my performance at Kolkata (where he scored 93 in the second innings), Kaarthick said. ``I feel it has come at the right time. It has given me great confidence.''

Skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq said on arrival here that the final XI would be decided depending on pitch conditions. ``The weather is good here. We would love batting,'' he said. — PTI
