SATHYAMANGALAM, MARCH 21. Chandar and Saroja raced to comfortable wins in the mini-marathon for men and women organised by the Rotaract Club of Bannari Amman Institute of Technology (BIT) and sponsored by Dixcy vests and briefs (Tirupur) at the college premises here on Sunday. The idea behind the run was to wish Indian speedster Narain Karthikeyan all the best for the Malaysian Grand Prix. The men's event that attracted 32 participants was held to a distance of 18kms. The women's event saw 11 participants and was run half the distance. BIT Principal A. Shanmugam and R. Sivakumar head of the physical department flagged off the race.
