Devasahayam, Karmughil triumph

MADURAI, MARCH 21. Devasahayam of Divya Club and Karmughil of Anchor Club won the men's singles and women's singles titles respectively in the district-level prize money carrom tournament conducted by Sourashtra Club here on Sunday.

The results: Men: Singles: Final: Devasahayam (Divya Club) bt Balamurugan (MSP Club) 25-9, 18-25, 25-7. Semifinals: Devasahayam bt Syed Abudhahir (Anchor Club) 25-10, 25-3; Balamurugan bt Shanmugam (Anchor Club) 25-21, 25-6.

Doubles: Final: Yousuf and Jeevanandam (Divya Club) bt Devasahayam and Ravichandran (Divya) 25-22, 25-24. Semifinals: Yousuf and Jeevanandam bt Syed Abudhahir and John Isaac (Anchor) 25-22, 25-16; Devasahayam and Ravichandran bt Mani and Balamurugan (MSP) 9-25, 25-17, 25-7.

Women's singles: Final: Karmughil (Anchor) bt Keerthika (Anchor) 25-11, 25-10.
