Tuticorin to meet Kolkata

TUTICORIN, MARCH 21. Host and defending champion Tuticorin beat Vishakapatnam 63-29 to advance to the final of the 24th all-India major ports basketball tournament here on Monday.

Tuticorin will play last year's runner-up Kolkata, which beat Chennai 62-35 in the other semifinal.

The results: Semifinals: Tuticorin 63 (Selvakumar 16, Santhosh 15, Vinothkumar 11, Rathnaraj 10) bt Vishakapatnam 29 (Sreedhar 10); Kolkata 62 (Amar Swarkar 21, Sushu Battacharya 15) bt Chennai 35 (Periamarudhu 15, Benny K. Mathew 12).

League: Pool A: Chennai 61 (Prabakaran 17, Sivagan 13) bt Marmagoa 32 (Lesly Prabath 18); Pool B: Kolkata 64 (Akal Battacharya 26, Arun Boko Adi 15) bt Vishakapatnam 48 (Abithar 16, Harris 15).
