Court notice to BCCI office-bearers

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI, MARCH 21. The Madras High Court today ordered notice to the newly elected BCCI office-bearers and the former president, Jagmohan Dalmiya, on a review petition filed by the Chennai-based Nethaji Cricket Club.

Justice P.D. Dinakaran ordered notices to the respondents returnable by March 28.

The matter relates to a civil suit apprehending irregularities during the election of the BCCI office-bearers.

Entertaining the plea, the Madras High Court had appointed the former Supreme Court Judge, S. Mohan, to conduct the election. However, the Supreme Court set aside the appointment and remanded the matter back to the Madras High Court to consider the review plea of the cricket club on merits and to decide whether the BCCI elections were held properly.

Now the court is seized of the review petition for impleading the new BCCI office-bearers.
