Stir against Bengali script: 16 held

IMPHAL MARCH 21. Sixteen activists of the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) were arrested here today during an agitation. Theyassembled at Pologround here demanding replacement of the Bengali script with the Manipuri. They said that they would not rest till the Bengali script is eliminated from the Manipuri literature.
