NEW DELHI, MARCH 21. A full strength Grounds and Wicket Committee of the Cricket Board carried out three-hour inspection of Ferozeshah Kotla, venue for the sixth and final one-day international match between India and Pakistan on April 17. The five-member committee comprising Venkat Sundaram (chairman), Prabeer Mukherjee, Dheeraj Parsana, Anand Shukla and Daljit Singh, appeared positive of the Kotla pitch being ready for the match. The newly laid pitches are being tested with competitive matches being held every day. At the end of the inspection, Mr. Sundaram said: "we are impressed with the stupendous work (by DDCA). It is no mean task to construct a modern cricket stadium.'' The committee, however, had a few concerns regarding the sightscreen, covers for the square, dressing rooms, umpires' room, third umpire's room and scoreboards. It is mandatory to have two scoreboards for an international match. The DDCA has been asked to submit a report on its preparations to the committee, which will be submitting its observations to the board on Tuesday.
