BANGALORE, MARCH 21. Anshuman of GE claimed a grand double in the Ventures conducted Corporate badminton tournament at the KBA- Rahenja stadium here. Anshuman first downed Rishi Mehrotra of Oracle 15-3, 15-13 to claim the men's singles title and then partnered Chandana to annexe the mixed doubles title winning 15-11, 17-16 against the Infosys duo of Reshma and Shashwat. The two were responsible for GE winning the C.V. Gideon Memorial Trophy for overall team champions with 28 points.
Oracle India bt Global Symphony Services 2-1 (Bobby bt Harsha 17-16, 7-4 (conceded); Rishi/Pramod lost to Harish/Harsha 9-15, 5-15; Rishi bt Harish 15-4, 12-15, 15-9).
For third place: IBM-2 bt HP 2-1. Plate Cup final: GE bt IBM-1 2-1.
Open events: Men's singles: Anshuman (GE) bt Rishi (Oracle) 15-3, 15-13.
Women's singles: Smitha Rao (Thomson) bt Reshma Pai (Infosys) 10-13, 11-9, 11-1.
Women's doubles: Reshma Pai/Yasmeen (Infosys) bt Chandana/Lekha (GE) 15-3, 15-2.
Mixed doubles: Chandana/Anshuman (GE) bt Reshma Pai/Shashwat (Infosys) 15-11, 17-16.
Funky- Men's doubles: Ramakrishna (Ventures)/Ajay (HP) bt Sabo (IBM)/Shashwat (Infosys) 15-4, 15-3.
