NEW DELHI, MARCH 21. The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, today played host to Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf's mother, son and brother at a lunch at his residence. General Musharraf's mother Zarin, son Bilal and brother Javed were served Mughlai delicacies by Dr. Singh and his wife Gursharan Kaur. The trio, who have been in India since March 16, spent one-and-a-half hours at the Prime Minister's residence, discussing subjects ranging from the ongoing India-Pakistan cricket series to General Musharraf's upcoming visit to India on April 16. "The lunch was a private affair", a Prime Minister's Office spokesman said. The Prime Minister and his wife hoped the visitors would get an opportunity to enjoy Indian hospitality and watch the cricket series, he said. Dr. Singh asked General Musharraf's mother about her days in India and her relatives here. The Prime Minister and his wife said they were looking forward to receiving the President and Begum Musharraf in New Delhi on April 16. The trio visited the family's ancestral house at Daryaganj here and Aligarh Muslim University where Ms. Zarin studied. Mr. Bilal, who is based in the United States, visited Lucknow yesterday. PTI
