`Donate materials for High Court museum'
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI:
The Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, Markandey Katju, has appealed to people to contribute "materials reminding us the history and importance of the High Court," to be housed at the newly-opened museum on the court premises.
Stating that the exhibits displayed at the museum were not sufficient, the Chief Justice said the objects would be duly acknowledged and the donor's name would find a mention along with the contribution.
"The exhibits may be such as wigs and robes worn by British judges and other objects relating to the High Court," said the Registrar (Administration), R. Venkatesan. They may be presented either to the Registrar-General of the High Court or judges in the Museum Committee or the curator of the museum. The museum, inaugurated on April 9, is open on all working days and entry is free.
