BANGALORE: Varun Gunasheelan of Tamil Nadu went in with a game plan and executed it perfectly to beat Karnataka's Sujith Sachindand 7-5, 6-2 and win the boys under-16 singles title in the Silicon City Jaycees AITA Talent Series tennis championship which concluded here on Thursday. Varun attacked every return and served with consistency. The first set went with serve till the 11th game when Sujith dropped serve. Varun held serve in the next game to take the first set. In the second set, the Tamil Nadu lad broke serve in the second game and never looked back there after and romped to a 6-2 win. In the boys under-14 singles final, Praveen Ramaswamy beat Rashien Samuel at 6-3, 6-3 while Yamini Reddy beat Nimisha Mohan 7-6(4), 6-1 in the girls' under-14 singles title clash. The results (all finals): Boys: Under-16: Singles: Varun Gunasheelan (TN) bt Sujith Sachidanand (Kar) 7-5, 6-2. Under-14: Singles: Praveen Ramaswamy (Kar) bt Rashien Samuel (Kar) 6-3, 6-3. Doubles: R. Vigneshwaran & S.S. Prithvi bt Praveen Ramaswamy & Rohan Gaonkar 6-3, 6-2. Girls: Under-16: Singles: Sayali Bhilare (Mah) bt Prarthana Pratap 6-3, 6-3. Doubles: Sharmada Balu & Karamjit Kaur (Kar) bt Prerana Pratap & Prarthana Pratap (Kar) 6-4, 6-1. Under-14: Singles: Yamini Reddy (Kar) bt Nimisha Mohan (Kar) 7-6(4), 6-1.
