Special Correspondent

WINNERS ALL: Pritham Haridass (category A and B), flanked by Khalin Joshi (category C) and Rahul Ravi (category D), pose for lensmen.

BANGALORE: Pritam Haridass bagged two titles in Bangalore Golf Club-Indian Golf Union South India tournament for juniors and sub-juniors. The 14-year-old, ninth standard student of Valley School was a clear winner in both the `A' (15-17 years) and `B' (13-14 years) categories. Khalin Joshi won the `C' category and Rahul Ravi took the top spot in the `D' section. Rahul Ravi came up with very consistent cards to have a two-day cumulative of 160.

A big field of 57 juniors and sub-juniors participated in the tournament.Pritam Haridas seems to have struck a purple patch. He has started this season with a bang winning the first round of the South India championship at Ooty and then went on to win the recently-concluded tournament at Coimbatore. The win at the Bangalore Golf Club was his third straight win in the South India championship. Pritam finished a creditable second to Rahul Bakshi in the All India juniors and sub-juniors played at the Karnataka Golf Association course recently.

Though Pritam dropped a few strokes from his first day's one over 71 card, he was able to card a birdie on the fourth and ninth holes and win by six strokes from C.G. Somaiah in the `A' section. In his own age group, Pritam had a 11-stroke lead over Keshav Hingorani.

The 12 year-old Khalin Joshi coached by Bambi Randhawa is also in great touch. Khalin won his third straight tournament in the `C' section with his earlier wins coming at Bangalore and Coimbatore. The seventh standard Frank Anthony Public School student had three birdies in the final round card and missed a hole-in-one by six inches on the 145- yard 14th hole.

The results:
