Dharam Singh denies reports on KPCC chief
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE:
The Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, has refuted reports in a section of the press stating that he has written to Ahmed Patel, Political Adviser to the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi, seeking the removal of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President, B. Janardhana Poojary.
In a clarification, the Chief Minister said that to say that he has written such a letter is far from the truth. The reports had said that Mr. Dharam Singh stated in the letter that following the party's debacle in the byelections, Mr. Poojary should be removed and H.C. Srikantaiah, a former Minister, should take his place. He was reported to have also written that the Law Minister, H.K. Patil, should not be considered for the presidentship.
