What does a US-educated, US-based software professional do for recreation? Prabakaran Murugaiah, one of the dozen brains behind F1study.com, works on the website so he can use loads more software solutions to help prospective students to USA. "We work 18 hours a day. We all have our own businesses. Some people do charity, we run this website to help students who want to study in the US," says the diminutive businessman whose accent has a tell-tale twang of the American influence. F1study, a racy name for their website, is taken for the type of visa students would need to study in USA. Mr. Murugaiah explains that it is a free-of-cost guide for Indian students to help them choose the right college gives information about the admission procedure and guides them through the visa application procedure. The website was launched in 2002, but Mr. Murugaiah is down in the city to spread the word about it to make the lives of US-student aspirants easier. He gives the example of one boy, who while filling in a visa application under family name, wrote the names of his parents and two siblings. The website guides you through all this as well as gives you practical information. For instance, the Indian passport lists the dates as dd/mm/yy. In USA, the date is written as mm/dd/yy. F1study.com has also brought out a guide book called "Study in USA -- A Guide for International Students". The company will be sending a free copy to all engineering colleges across India, as they are the primary target audience. Susan Muthalaly
