Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended between 9 a.m and 5 p.m on Saturday for maintenance work in parts of Porur, Avadi, Chromepet, Radha Nagar, and Chepauk areas.

Free health camp

To mark its foundation Day and World Doctors Day, Dr Batras' Positive Health Foundation is organising a free health camp. Residents can avail free consultation from senior doctors and medicines for a month from the clinic. To avail of free treatment, residents will have to register themselves at Dr Batra's Super Speciality Homeopathy Clinic in advance. Dak Adalat

The chief postmaster, Anna Road Head Post Office will conduct a Dak Adalat at 11 a.m. on July 5. Postal customers of this area may send their complaints to A Thomas Lourduraj, Chief Postmaster, Anna Road HPO, Chennai - 600006 on or before July 2. The complaints pertaining to MO/VP/Regd/Insured/ Speed Post and savings schemes will have to submit details. Complaints should be sent by ordinary, registered or speed post.

Tribute to MLV

Priya Sisters Haripriya and Shanmugapriya will be presenting a vocal recital on July 2 dedicated to the memory of Carnatic vocalist M.L. Vasanthakumari. On July 3, Gayathri Venkatraghavan will perform familiar ragas of MLV.

Books donation

The Jaigopal Garodia Charitable Book Bank is collecting college textbooks that are in good condition and relevant to the current syllabus. These will be distributed to needy, poor students. Office shifted

Chennai Metrowater's depot office 58, Area IV, functioning at Kilpauk Shaft Road has been shifted with effect from Friday. The new office will be at New Avadi Road junction, Aspiran Garden First Street, Kilpauk.

Fatal fall

An eight-year-old boy fell from the third floor of a building in a private school in Mylapore on Thursday. The boy is out of danger, police said. According to police, the boy, a class III student of the school , fell from the third floor around 3 p.m., police said. He was admitted to a hospital.
