BEL net drops

BANGALORE: The net profit of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has dropped marginally to Rs. 56.59 crore during the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 from Rs. 58.14 crore during corresponding quarter in the previous year. Net sales also declined to Rs. 479.14 crore from Rs. 617.14 crore. BEL said sales and production were expected to pick up in the subsequent quarters, considering the orders on hand and expected during the remaining period of the year.
