Poobesh in joint lead

NEW DELHI: Poobesh Anand defeated Ukraine's International Master to join six other leaders with three points from three rounds of Czech Open chess tournament in Pardubice on Sunday.

On a day when most Indians drew on the leading boards, S. Satyapragyan upstaged compatriot and sixth seed Sandipan Chanda.

The results (Third round, involving Indians): S. Kidambi (2.5) drew with Piotr Dobrowolski (Pol, 2.5); Pavel Stehno (Cze, 2.5) drew with Tejas Bakre (2.5); M. R. Venkatesh (2.5) drew with Eugenia Chasovnikova (Rus, 2.5); Igor Smirnov (Ukr, 2) lost to Poobesh Anand (3); Sandipan Chanda (1.5) lost to S. Satyapragyan (2.5); D. V. Prasad (2) drew with Jakub Czekon (Pol, 2); Saptarshi Roy Chowdhury (2) bt Fabian Moeller (Ger, 1); Victor Volodin (Rus, 1) lost to Eesha Karavade (2); Rahul Shetty (1.5) drew with Emre Can (Tur, 1.5); Nikolas Lubbe (Ger, 1) lost to Tania Sachdev (2); Mateusz Kuziola (Pol, 1) drew with Kruttika Nadig (1).
