Letters to the Editor
By upholding the acquittal of S.A.R. Geelani in the Parliament attack case, the Supreme Court has done a significant thing. The ruling will enhance the faith of the common man in the highest judicial body. Mr. Geelani's is only one of the many cases in which POTA was misused by the NDA Government. The only difference between corrupt policemen and the terrorists is that the terrorists terrorise the whole nation while the former terrorise selectively through fake arrests and encounters.
Syed Hasan Kazim,
The judgment must have come as a shock to the family of the security personnel who laid down their lives to protect Parliament. Acquittal for lack of proof is nothing to be proud of.
Smita Shenoy,
Udita Agrawal,
It is unfortunate that intellectuals have rushed to the rescue of people who are not entirely above suspicion.
P. Venkat Ramana,
