Pakistan team visits Tihar jail
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI:
An 11-member Pakistani delegation, led by Interior Secretary Syed Kamal Shah, visited the Tihar Jail here on Tuesday to meet two Pakistani prisoners.
Mr. Shah, who is the first senior Pakistani official to visit the jail, had requested for the meeting. He went to the prison after his two-day talks with his Indian counterpart V.K. Duggal.
Mr. Shah met the prisoners, Wasim Ahmed, arrested from the Jammu region, and Majid Khan, a resident of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, and sought personal details. He later quoted Ahmed as saying that he crossed over to the Indian border by mistake during a marriage function in Sialkot.
