Jawan dies in action in Guwahati

KARWAR: Sanjiv Mohan Naik, 22, a native of Kadwad near here, who joined Assam Rifles three years ago, is reported to have died while fighting ULFA terrorists near Guwahati on Saturday.

A message in this regard received here on Wednesday night has come as a rude shock to the people of Kadwad. Only two weeks ago, Vinod Naik, who also is from Kadwad, died in an encounter with terrorists in Poonch sector near Jammu.

Sanjiv was the only member in his family to get a job. His body is likely to arrive here on Friday.
