GE Money now in Chennai
CHENNAI:
GE Consumer Finance, a unit of General Electric Company, on Thursday announced the launch of GE Money in Chennai and South India. Addressing a press conference, the President and CEO, Vishal Pandit, said the move was part of a global re-branding exercise for GE Money across 47 countries where GE Consumer Finance operated. All existing GE Countrywide products were being consolidated under the GE Money umbrella brand. The company would invest Rs. 45 crore towards a nationwide expansion of is branches to 200 across 110 cities from 118 now in 60 cities. The company was holding talks with the Reserve Bank of India on starting banking operations in this country, Mr. Vishal Pandit added.
