Acrimony takes a back seat
Years of political hostility and acrimony took a back seat at a luncheon hosted by Mayor J. Chandra at a city hotel on Wednesday. It provided an opportunity for the outgoing councillors from the ruling and Opposition fronts to come together and share their experiences.
The function was marked by good-natured gossip and small talk. Barring a handful of members, the rest were present on the occasion. Inevitably, the conversation was centred on the forthcoming elections to the Corporation.
Even the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) members, who had resigned from the council earlier this year, responded to the invitation. The luncheon culminated in a photo session.
