SALEM: Commotion prevailed for a brief spell on the premises of the Office of District Employment Exchange here on Thursday as candidates aspiring to become conductors in the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) demanded relaxation of age limit.
Conductors' recruitment
The Government had announced the recruitment of conductors and drivers for the TNSTC and asked the Employment Offices to recommend candidates based on seniority. For the post of conductors, 30 years was fixed as the maximum age for candidates belonging to Open category, 35 years for Backward Class/Most Backward Class and 40 years for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Candidates, who registered for the post but crossed the specified age limit, demanded that the Government relax the age limit, particularly for those belonging to the BC/MBC. They also faxed a memorandum in this regard to the Chief Minister.
