LIC Rajahmundry division aims at 20,000 new `Bima Gold' policies before March 31 next

    RAJAHMUNDRY: The LIC Rajahmundry division has set a target of 20,000 new `Bima Gold' policies. Addressing a press conference in the divisional office here on Thursday, Senior Divisional Manager N.K.V. Roop Kumar said that his division is confident of meeting the target before the close of Bima Gold policy on March 31 next.

    He said that the new policy with minimum of Rs.40,000 sum assured and having money back feature (after four years) will be offered to persons in the age group of 14 to 63 years. The policy has auto cover and accident benefit of Rs.50 lakhs and survival benefit form 12th year. "It is the best policy with low premium," he noted.

    Mr. Roop Kumar said that customer contact programme and Bima rallies would be held in all branches from September 5 in both East and West Godavari districts.

    Mr. Roop Kumar said that the division, which stood all-India first twice, fixed a target of 3,33,333 polices. It achieved one lakh polices for the current financial year. He said that 1,235 death claims were settled and Rs.0.53 crores paid this year.

    The manager said that on the eve of golden jubilee celebrations, the division would take up several social services activities. An amount of Rs.1 lakh will be given to provide drinking water facility to any one of the villages in Gokavaram mandal and four tricycles will be distributed to physically challenged.

    Synthetic water tanks will be distributed to four schools for supplying protected water. Mr. Roop Kumar said that blood donation camps, dental and health check-up camps would be organised. Essay-writing and painting competitions will be held for children.
