Steel companies hike prices

NEW DELHI: Major steel companies on Thursday raised prices by 2.5 per cent, citing pick-up in global markets and easing of inventory levels. While public sector Steel Authority of India jacked up prices by 2.3 per cent for all its products, Tata Steel increased only spot prices, saying it had not changed term prices.

Essar Steel said it raised prices by 3 per cent.
