KADAPA: The Kadapa police on Thursday arrested two vehicle-lifters and two women who stole gold ornaments from a recent marriage function and seized a car, three two-wheelers and gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.16 lakhs from them. Chatla Narayanamma (40) and her daughter, Easwaramma (18), of SC Colony at Yerraguntla, were arrested and gold ornaments worth Rs. 2.16 lakhs were recovered from them, Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy told a press conference here. The woman and daughter, though uninvited, attended the marriages of the daughters of one Gangi Reddy at Umesh Chandra Kalyanamantapam here on August 18 and stole gold ornaments in the early hours, he said.
Car seized
A property offender, Galla Udayabhaskar (40), of Akula street here, was nabbed and a Maruti stolen by him in Kerala, worth Rs. 1.50 lakhs, was seized, the SP stated. The police also arrested an AIDS patient, Yeddula Sudhakar (32), and recovered three motorcycles.
