China against n-weapons

BEIJING: It is the shared aspiration of the international community and the goal of China to free the world of nuclear weapons, said a white paper issued here on Thursday by the Information Office of the State Council. The end of the Cold War and the new security situation have made possible the substantial reduction, destruction and prohibition of such weapons, said the white paper titled China's Endeavours for Arms Control, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation. Pushing forward the nuclear disarmament process will improve international security environment and promote world peace and development. Nuclear disarmament measures, including intermediate measures, should follow the guidelines of maintaining global strategic balance — Xinhua
