Names not figured
Names of TDP urban president Gadde Rammohan's wife Anuradha and vice-president Katragadda Nagamalleswara Rao's wife have not figured in the probables list. Candidates in women general category have acquired prominence with the Mayoral post reserved for this category. Annapurna theatre proprietor A.K. Mohana Rao's daughter-in-law Adusumilli Sivaleela's name has figured in the list for 7th division. Former corporator Chennupati Gandhi's wife Kantisri's name has found place in the list for 13th division. TDP former urban president Boppana Raghavendra Rao's wife Rajeswari's name has come up in the probable list of three names for the 43rd division. Former corporator of 44th division Koneru Sridhar's wife Ramadevi's name is found in the list for 9th division. Party sources say Ramadevi's candidature is finalised. Mr. Rammohan is said to have stuck to his decision in not fielding his wife. Similarly, Mr. Chennupati Gandhi is also said to have expressed unwillingness to field his wife in the election fray. However, the urban leadership has ensured that Chennupati Kantisri's name is present in the list of probables. Mr. Gandhi's name is there for 11th division.
Surveys being done
Meanwhile, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu is getting surveys conducted on the winning chances of all the probable candidates in all the divisions. Mr. Naidu is said to be keen on selecting four to five candidates in women general category with good academic qualifications. The State party is keen on fielding women candidates. The TDP has given the responsibility of selecting three probables in Vijayawada West constituency to its leaders Nagul Meera, Jaleel Khan and M.K. Beig. Meera and Khan are said to have differences in selecting the candidates in some divisions initially.
