Insurance week celebrations

Andhra Bank Zonal Manager K. Suryanarayana on Thursday inaugurated the Insurance Week celebrations coinciding with the golden jubilee celebrations of the Life Insurance Corporation of India at a colourful function at its divisional office here. LIC Senior Divisional Manager S. Behera hoisted the flag and M. Seshagiri Rao, senior most employee, administered pledge to the staff. Mr. Suryanarayana hoped that the LIC would further improve its record. The policy-holder for the highest amounnt, Vasudeva Rao, Policy Holder Council members, several retired employees, representatives of public sector units and employees lighted 50 lamps signifying the golden jubilee. Marketing Manager N. Nageswara Rao, Policy Holder Council members Srinivasa Bharadwaja, G. Kurmanadha Rao and Ch. Mahalakshmi participated.

Hindi fortnight fete launched

Hindi Fortnight celebrations for 2005-06 were inaugurated at the Eastern Naval Command by Command Engineering Officer S.S. Lal. He stressed the need for increased use of Hindi in office correspondence. Senior Rajbhasha Officer of HPCL T. Mahadev Rao was the special invitee. Command Hindi Liaison Officer S. Sridhar detailed the steps being taken to promote Hindi. Various competitions and workshops will be conducted during the fortnight. - Staff Reporter
