Power shutdown

There will be no power supply in the following places from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 6 as the Kovilpalayam sub-station will be shut down for maintenance, according to a release from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB): Sarkar Samakulam, Kovilpalayam, Kurumbapalayam, Kallipalayam, Chettipalayam, Oraikalpalayam, Vaiyampalayam, Ponne Gounden Pudur, Sundamedu, Chennappa Chettipudur, Rayarpalayam, Agraharasamakulam, Kottaipalayam, Kondaiyampalayam, Kunnathur, Kalipalayam, Puthur, Vadavalli, Mondikalipudur, Munukattiyur, Onnipalayam and Karisipalayam.

Contact classes

Madurai Kamaraj University will conduct contact classes for M.Phil., undergraduate, post-graduate, diploma and certificate courses on September 3 and 4, at Perks Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Uppilipalayam, Coimbatore-641015, according to a release.

Co-opted

D. Padmanaban, Chairman and Correspondent, GRD Institutions, has been co-opted as a member of the Research Council of the Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi, for a period of two years, according to a release.

Cultural festival

Coimbatore Institute of Technology will conduct `Harmony 05', an inter-college cultural festival from September 2 to 4, according to a release.

Agreement

The Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam and the PSG College of Technology will sign a memorandum of understanding on September 10 for collaborative works in joint research projects, exchange of scientific human resource and mutual use of laboratory facilities. Baldev Raj, Director, IGCAR, and C. R. Swaminathan, Chief Executive, PSG Institutions, will sign the agreement, according to a release.
