Civic polls: LDF list today

KOCHI: Hectic parleys are on in both the UDF and LDF camps regarding the sharing of seats in the ensuing local bodies polls.

The final list of LDF candidates will be released on Friday after a meeting of the CPI(M) district secretariat and district committee.

The CPI(M) leaders are expected to finalise the seat-sharing process with LDF constituents and Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) on Friday morning before the meeting. The LDF sprang a surprise in the Muslim-dominated West Kochi by deciding to field Seenath, daughter of Indian Union Muslim League district vice-president K.H. Khalid, at Chakkamadam division.
