Two die in accidents

BANGALORE: A 52-year-old woman was killed when a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus ran over her after she fell off the scooter on which she was riding pillion with her husband on Wednesday.

The police said the accident occurred around 5.30 p.m. near Navarang Circle in Rajajinagar. The victim, Tara Devi, was rushed to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital where she died of injuries.

In accordance with her wish, Tara Devi's husband, Babu, a Chief Engineer in HAL, decided to donate her eyes. The eyes were donated to the Lions Eye International, said B.A. Vishwanath Singh, Inspector (Malleshwarm Traffc Zone).

In another accident, a 22-year-old man was killed after a lorry rammed his motorcycle on Kanakapura Road, off Metro, around 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The police gave the name of the dead as Kempegowda, a resident of Anjan Nagar on Magadi Road. The Banashankari traffic police have arrested the driver and seized the lorry.
