Letters to the Editor
Close on the heels of Andhra Pradesh, the Chhattisgarh Government has also decided to ban naxalite outfits and their frontal organisations. The decision follows the landmine blast triggered by naxalites three days ago, killing 24 security personnel. Naxalism is a national problem and needs to be tackled by the Centre. While a coordinated strategy should be drawn up to combat the ultras, it is also important for the UPA partners, particularly the Left, to play a major role in bringing the naxalites into the mainstream.
Munukutla Ramarao,
Today, the naxal movement has become synonymous with senseless killing. Innocent people, officials, people who refuse their demands for money, arms and food are all gunned down by men calling themselves naxalites.
G.M. Ramarao,
