Bank officials make presentations on various projects they can avail of

CHENNAI:
A recent State-level workshop of the Confederation of NGOs of Rural India, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry Chapters held at Chennai saw the participation of about 185 NGOs.
G. Venkidusamy of Sivaganga presided the inaugural session. L.V. Saptarishi, Co-Chairman, National Chapter of the CNRI, who inaugurated the meet and K. Bhanu, president, CNRI's Tamil Nadu Chapter, explained the concept and objectives of the confederation at national and State-level. At the plenary session which followed, senior officers from the Indian Bank, the Bank of Baroda, the NABARD and the Department of Rural Development made presentations pertaining to various projects and facilities which NGOs could avail themselves of successfully for preparing projects and implementing them in the rural areas for the community welfare.
In an interactive session held later, Mr. Saptarishi, discussed the structuring of CNRI, action programme of the organisation, membership drive and guidelines for securing projects from various sources.
