Power cut

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended in Adambakkam and Velachery on September 28 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Eye camp

Rajan Eye Care Hospital in association with Rotary Club of Madras T. Nagar, JHGR Dental Care and Chitra ENT Centre conducted free eye dental and ENT screening camp at Corporation School in Nesapakkam on September 25. About 200 patients were screened for various eye, dental and ENT problems. Free medicines were also given.

Volunteers clean up temples

Volunteers of SMILE cleaned Arulmigu Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswathi temple at Madanandapuram and Arulmigu Ponniamman Temple at Porur on Monday. Nearly 55 participated.

Session for English teachers

The Krishnaswamy Group of Schools held a briefing session on `Banyan Tree, A Term Series' for English teachers of their primary sections. Educational consultant Shiela Subramanian conducted the session on September 22 at Sri Krishnaswamy Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Anna Nagar.

Diabetics screened at Tiruvallur camp

The Singhvi Charitable Trust conducted a free eye and dental camp at Veppampattu in Tiruvallur on September 25.

About 500 were screened for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataract, vision and dental problems. Over 300 spectacles will be distributed free.

In another eye camp held at Singhvi Diagnostic Centre at Triplicane, about 166 persons were diagnosed for eye-related problems.

Evaluation for laser eye surgery

Dr. Agarwal Eye Hospital will conduct a free eye evaluation camp for zyoptix-100 Lasik laser surgery till December 24.

According to a release, the hospital authorities say the surgery helps patients with myopia, hypermetropia and presbyopia to correct the vision.

Personality development course

Chromepet Manavalakkalai Mandram Trust, affiliated to the World Community Service Centre will conduct a 12-day personality development course for students above 14.
