Jewellery stolen from pawn shop

CHENNAI: Gold jewellery weighing 10 sovereigns was stolen from a pawnbroker's shop in Vadapalani on Tuesday.

Police said a person came to the shop of Paramesh in Kumaran Colony claimed that he belonged to the same locality and pledged 10 sovereigns for Rs. 35,000.

He returned this Tuesday stating that he wanted to redeem the jewels.

As soon as Mr. Paramesh took out the jewellery, person pretended to check it and then pushed Mr Paramesh down and made of with the valuables.

Cameras stolen

Thieves broke into a photo studio on 100 ft Road, near Koyambedu, on Monday night and took away cameras. Police said that the thieves had made of with two video cameras and four still cameras. The proprietor of the studio, N. Amudhan, lodged a complaint with a complaint.
