Bharat Petroleum's Speed 97 launched

Staff Reporter

TAMBARAM: Speed 97, another high-end petrol of the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and priced at a whopping Rs. 55 a litre, was launched in the city on Wednesday.

According to BPCL officials, the high-end variety of petrol was launched as the market for luxury and sports cars was growing. With a sophisticated engine, a high-end petrol was the natural choice for owners of such vehicles, they said.

They said Speed 97, which cost nearly Rs. 8 more than a litre of ordinary petrol, was a blend of high-octane petrol and contained multi functional additives, enabling the high performance vehicles to remove harmful deposits from components.

The product would initially be available in three outlets: Ekayars, T. Nagar; Abdul Cader, Meenambakkam and Elite Petrol Services, Cathedral Road and would soon be extended to the rest of the BPCL outlets in a phased manner. S. Radhakrishnan, Director (Marketing) launched the petrol variety at a function at Abdul Cader agencies, Meenambakkam.

He also launched the "In and Out" card on the occasion that enables customers to shop at the stores attached to certain BPCL outlets.
