New chief for Eastern Naval Command

NEW DELHI: Vice-Admiral Sureesh Mehta has assumed command of the Eastern Naval Command of the Indian Navy. Vice-Admiral Mehta takes over the command after a five-year stint in Delhi. He commissioned in the Navy in 1967 and was awarded the Ati Vishist Seva Medal in 1995 and Param Vishist Seva Medal this year for his exceptional meritorious services.
