HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has urged Congress MLAs and party functionaries to gear up for the elections to cooperative bodies later this month. Addressing the Congress leaders at the Gandhi Bhavan here on Thursday, he asked them to plunge into the election work seriously and ensure victory in the polls to the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies on October 22. He said though the elections to the cooperatives were confined to a smaller segment, they were important for the party as they involved the farmers.
Awareness
The ryots should be told about the welfare measures launched by the Government for their benefit like free power supply to agricultural connections and the ongoing work on irrigation projects. The APCC president, K. Keshava Rao, later told presspersons that observers would be sent if needed to the subsequent elections for the District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs).
