Language panel member's advice

Official Urdu Language Commission member Jelani Pairak has advised the staff of Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad to open a counter exclusively for receipt of applications written in Urdu and send the same to the commission for translation and necessary action.

Mr. Pairak, who visited the west zone office here on Wednesday, also wanted the officials to implement the first language of Telugu and second language of Urdu in a systematic manner for the benefit of people.

Degree supplementary examinations

Year-wise scheme supplementary examinations for BA and B.Com, first, second and third year will commence from October 15. Hall-tickets along with timetable have been sent to candidates.

Painting workshop

US education fair

UNITI Foundation, a satellite centre of United States Educational Foundation in India (USEFI), is organising Linden US University Fair on October 7 at Taj Krishna that aims at introducing US universities to students here. Nineteen universities are participating in the fair.

Pub anniversary

Escape, the fun pub at Hotel Green Park, is celebrating its eight anniversary from October 7 to 9 with a brand new menu and a foot thumping music.

Guests will be treated to an evening of rapid fire quizzing, one-minute games, dancing and loads of fast paced music by DJ Sunny.

Handloom expo

National Handloom Expo 2005 will be organised at the exhibition grounds, Mukarramjahi Road, from October 7 to 27. The State and Regional Apex Weavers Cooperative Societies and Handloom Development Corporations of all States and Union Territories will showcase and sell handloom fabrics produced in different regions.
