14 years and set for 1,500th show

Komagan's `Raagapriya' has completed 14 years and nearly 1,500 shows.

Still, people in Tamil Nadu continue to remember M.C. Komagan, whose live orchestra played the unforgettable melody `Ovvoru Pookkalumae' in the film `Autograph'.

"We pride in calling ourselves the orchestra by the visually challenged," says the leader of the troupe that will hold its 1,500th show in Kamarajar Arangam in Chennai on October 22. The same winning team from `Autograph' will perform in front of at least a dozen playback singers including Anuradha Sriram and Harini, besides the lyricist Pa. Vijay, who penned the lyrics in the famous song. Tickets worth Rs. 300, Rs.200 and Rs.100 will be sold at the venue from Thursday.
