TNCC plans protest

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee will organise a demonstration here on October 20 to condemn the police "inaction" with regard to breaking-in into the house of Congress Legislative Party leader, S.R.Balasubramoniyan, recently.

The demonstration would be lead by the party president, G.K.Vasan in which senior leaders of the party would participate.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Mr.Vasan said even a fortnight after the incident, police had not taken any action. The incident in a busy residential locality where senior officials were living betrayed the law and order situation in the State. It only exposed "free movement of anti-social elements" in the State who, he said, were creating panic among the people.
