MCH keen on Japanese bank grant for lake clean-up

HYDERABAD:
The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad is expecting Rs. 50 crores from Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), which has evinced interest in taking up the project to clean Hussainsagar lake and its environs.
The JBIC delegation, led by Kumiko Uchida, Country Officer, Takashi Shinmura, Engineer, and Deputy Director Ichiguchi Tomohide, held discussions with MCH officials for extending loan to improve the four important surplus nalas around the lake, 11 slums and repairs to surplus weirs, according to a press release.
While the Hyderabad Urban Development Authority will undertake the major work, JBIC is talking with the MCH and also the Hyderabad Metro Water and Sewerage Board for taking up related works at their respective ends.
