Man held with fake passport
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Immigration authorities at Begumpet airport arrested Ch. Raju, 25, who flew from Riyadh on Tuesday on the charge of travelling with a passport obtained by concealing facts.
A native of West Godavari district, Raju later admitted that he had secured the passport four years ago with a false name of Mohd. Raheem allegedly by paying Rs. 15,000 to Qasim, a Nizamabad-based travel agent. The address of Nizamabad too was allegedly false. According to Begumpet Sub-Inspector B. Sridhar, the accused person got in touch with Qasim through his relative Venkateshwarlu who was working in Riyadh. He went to Riyadh with the passport thus secured, worked there for four years and was caught today after landing at Hyderabad.
Immigration authorities grew suspicious as Raju's accent of Hindi and Urdu was different. On persistent questioning, he spilled the beans.
